Albero

I was in awe of her beauty

I knew to keep a respectful distance

All she’d been through, I could only imagine

As I gazed at her limbs I was mindful of the scars

Not visible on the surface but perhaps buried deep within

Revealing the hidden secrets that so few had witnessed

I knew eventually I would have to walk away

As I made my way into the darkness I turned back one last time

She was just as beautiful as she ever was

Standing tall in the glow of midnight
